Carthage College has two qualifiers for the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championship. With the top-20 individuals qualifying for the championship, Carthage's Branden Miller (Sr., Winfield, Ill./Wheaton-North) is ranked 10th in the shot put (54-7 1/4), 14th in the hammer throw (189-8) and 19th in the discus (165-0). Mark Balmes (Jr., Mount Prospect, Ill./Arlington Heights-Hersey) is ranked fifth in the discus (174-7). This year's championship will be held on Thursday-Saturday, May 21-23 at St. Lawrence University's Merrick-Pinkard Track in Canton, N.Y.
